Inhibit is a painting that uses a solar sensitive paint called cyanotype, harnessing light as a medium and muse. Initially I created empty space by placing tape in ornamental shapes and crosses. I then intuitively built upon the structure of each layer, creating texture and shape in a composition of several layers. The intent was to capture the multi-dimensional quality of light as a force in the creative process, by having a playful & explorative approach to creating a painting. This is a product of years of experimentation with the medium of cyanotype, shown below
